FIFA World Cup 2018: Russia Vs Saudi Arabia - Match Preview

FIFA World Cup 2018: Match 1- Russia Vs Saudi Arabia Match Preview:

The biggest sporting spectacle on earth-FIFA World Cup begins today. It was Mario Gotze’s extra time goal that made Germany the world champions in 2014. Now, almost four years later, 31 countries seek to take away the World Cup trophy from them.

Matchday 1 of the World Cup will witness the Russian hosts take on Saudi Arabia at the Luzhniki Stadium.

Recently, both the teams have been down with bad form and have struggled to register in the 'Wins' category. Russia have lost in the last seven non-competitive games while Saudi Arabia are on a three-game losing streak of their own. Both sides have also had issues when it comes to performing during the World Cup tournament. While the last world cup game Russia had won was in 2002, Saudi Arabia's last victory came in 1994.

Despite the bad form, the Russian head coach Stanislav Cherchesov wants his team to play the pressing game. With a relatively easier group, Russia should do well... at least in the group stages.

Possible line-ups
