She’s 20-years-old, and she owns a company with an enormous valuation. Also, she’s an almost-billionaire.
Age is reduced to a number and talent is pumped into an empire when it’s Kylie Jenner we’re talking about. The youngest of the Jenner-Kardashian clan has been heralded by Forbes to have a net valuation of approximately a billion dollars.
And that’s a big deal, why? The 20-year-old has Kylie Cosmetics to boast of, and she will effectively outpace Mark Zuckerberg to become the youngest ever self-made billionaire. You have to be living under a rock to be oblivious of her movements in the glamour circuit–she has gone from being a reality-show personality to an entrepreneur in just three years.
According to Forbes, $800 million is the estimated ballpark of earnings from Kylie Cosmetics, and the remaining profit derives from Keeping Up with the Kardashians and other sponsored posts. We aren’t a tad bit surprised–she has a mass following of 110 million people on Instagram, and ‘fame’ is just the tip of the iceberg for her.
Expounding on the lip pout, which propelled her to celebrity status, Forbes remarks, “What her half-sister Kim Kardashian West did for booty, Jenner has done for full lips.” Describing it as an insecurity she grappled with, Kylie Jenner’s full lips soon became the next big thing, as she pumped up the hype with her derma fillers. Case in point: previously relying on lip fillers, she resorted to surgery for enhanced lips, and that’s when a lot of women scheduled an appointment with their plastic surgeons to have what she just got. Kylie Cosmetics spawned from her desire to offer women an easier route to what they wanted: the lip colour line endorsed the full lips look through overfilling and lining with glossy shades. The $29 lip-kit has made $630 million through lipsticks and lip liners, hinging on the success of her ‘fuller’ pout. The Kylie Jenner-look was granted first-hand access by offering the goldmine of beauty essentials she uses, and the option to purchase it is now a necessity.
The Jenner-Kardashian sisters have forayed into introducing their own lines and smartphone apps, and this one might be the biggest gateway to success, yet. The lip-kits sold in less than a minute after their launch in November of 2015, and the sales continue to pivot around the ‘perfect pout.’ The young mother has an enormous degree of vogue to her name, and now it’s the billionaire tag, which elevates the glamorous pedestal she’s watching the world from. Kylie ranks as the 27th richest self-made women in the world in the same list, being the 100% owner of an $800 million company–she’s indubitably keeping up with her 10-year-old fame.
